The Toronto District Council required that the very long, ugly blank grey wall of this new sorting office in downtown Toronto be 'decorated' in some way. The architects and Canada Post decided on enlarging their Candian Birds postage stamps, each one consisting of 2 almost full sheets of ChromaLux (Outdoor Grade) butted up against each other and mounted on a thick sheet of aluminum. I contracted the project, providing the enlargements from the original artwork, the printing on aluminum, designed the mounting system and sub-contracted the mounting and installation to a sign maker in the city.

For the Sheila Kuehl Family Wellness Center, artist Christine Nguyen designed a photo-based mural, a divider wall, a mobile sculpture, and coloring book inspired by the flora and fauna in San Fernando and the surrounding region. The artwork portrays a meditative and harmonious environment which is a celebration of spirit, comfort, healing and recovery. Together, these works create a playful and inspirational imaginary world that gives a sense of wonder for the patients, visitors and staff at the facility.
This new LEED Gold facility established a refreshing and playful environment for children’s mental health, including this sunlit atrium-style waiting area. |

For the new ARCC building, Christine Nguyen designed a photo-based mural, a mobile sculpture, and colouring book inspired by the flora and fauna of the County of San Diego and the San Diego River that bisects the city of Santee. The building was the nation’s first zero net energy archive facility and maintains strict temperature and humidity conditions to preserve delicate archive materials properly. The single-story, 25,000-square-foot structure is home to the East County Branch Office and Archives.
