MARK PRIOR SELECTED WORK : "TEESDALE"
I lived in Teesdale for 19 years, between 1984 and 2003, and for that time focused my attention on it's secluded, over-hung and boulder-strewn river valleys, waterfalls, moors and stone ruins. Working with large format black and white sheet film (using the 'zone system' of exposure), I had found 'my Yosemite'.
Fast-forward to the digital age and scanning these 5x4 negatives to create new digital editions is an on-going project that I'm only at the beginning of. I've scanned about half of the best so far, but have prepared only 4 for printing which I present below. The exception is "Summerhill Force Waterfall", (top right ) which I took on a damp and misty afternoon in March of 2017*. (There are 30+ years between the top two images!)
* Photographed using a Canon EOS 5Ds with a TS-E 17mm f/4L tilt-shift lens, a combination which gives flawless enlargements to 72"x 48". Finally, the quality I'd been waiting for since the dawn of digital photography!
